Explore The Trippy World Of Psychedelic Garage Rock on Limited Edition Transparent Lime Green Vinyl featuring Harry Nilsson, 13th Floor Elevators, MC5, Tame Impala & more! Two-Piers, the label that brought you Pop Psychédélique (The Best of French Psychedelic Pop 1964-2019) brings you the second installment in the series, Garage Psychédélique (The Best of Garage Psych and Pzyk Rock 1965-2019) - a thrill-a-minute dive into the crazy awesome world of garage psychedelic rock. From the psych sound explosion on the underground club scene in the US and UK in the mid 1960s to it's discovery by a wider audience via the exceptional Nuggets and Pebbles compilation series in the 1970s-1980s, through it's mainstream revival with the garage sound of the late 1990s/early 2000s, to the current crop of exceptional bands flying the garage psych flag today, Garage Psychédélique takes you on a journey and gives you a little taste of some of the finest music from the scene and the bands that blazed a trail for others to follow... Sit back and enjoy the ride! From the opening bars of The Sonics' "Have Love Will Travel," through the psych workout that is Count Five's "Psychotic Reaction," to the joys of '60s psych groups from the US such as The Paragons, The Preachers, The Strangeloves, The Squires, and the eccentric stylings of The Monks, the album careers along at a blistering pace of garage psych brilliance, jam-packed full of underground floor fillers aplenty. US legendary underground acts such as The Electric Prunes, The Chocolate Watch Band and MC5 all deliver classic tracks for the cause, and singer-songwriter Harry Nilsson even makes a foray into the psych-rock sound with "Jump into the Fire." In recent years, such bands as Thee Oh Sees, Moon Duo and Allah-Las from the US have taken the garage psych influence and '60s sound and made it their own. A whole crop of bands such as White Hills, Gnod and Goat have evolved the music into a "Pzyk Rock" feel with a darker and heavier vibe, but crucially still with the joyous undertones that the scene brings to it's devotees. The garage psych sound has influenced groups from around the globe with bands like Liverpool's The Stairs with their song "Weed Bus," Scotland's finest The Poets with "That's the Way It's Gotta Be," The Bogeymen, a largely undiscovered '90s psych Hammond band from France with "Electrocution." Hailing from Sweden, Goat bring us "Gathering of Ancient Tribes" and The Hives add their dancefloor anthem "Main Offender." From Perth, Australia, Pond's psych leanings on "Fantastic Explosion of Time" are clear to see. Finally, Kevin Parker's band Tame Impala were very influenced by the whole garage psych sound in their early band incarnation, as perfectly showcased here on the epic wig-out that is "Half Full Glass of Wine," which closes the album. This isn't meant to be a "crate diggers" album, or a compilation of "obscure, hard-to-find tracks" to outdo your mates. It is quite simply a celebration of the Garage Psychédélique scene and a chance to revel in it's brilliance and dance around your kitchen. If it means you go down a rabbit hole of discovery to unearth more gems and brilliant bands from the garage psych scene, then job well done!

GRADING

Yellow Racket assigns condition based on the Goldmine Standard for grading records.
New (N) (Not typically included in the Goldmine Standard)
New records are purchased directly from the label, distributor, or registered wholesaler. Records are still sealed. Jackets may have slight shelf wear, but media has never been played.
Mint (M)
Still sealed. Never played. No observable flaws.  Items have been purchased secondhand.
Near Mint (NM)
A Near Mint (NM) record will play perfectly, with no imperfections during playback. The record should show no obvious signs of wear.
The cover (and any additional packaging) has no creases, folds, seam splits, cut-out holes, or other noticeable defects.
Very Good Plus (VG+)
A Very Good Plus (VG+) record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it.
Defects should be more of a cosmetic nature, not affecting the actual playback as a whole. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches.
The disc and LP cover may have slight signs of wear, and may be gently marred by spindle marks, paper scuffs, wrinkled corners, etc.
Very Good (VG)
Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident, but will not overpower the music. Disc may have light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
Labels, jackets, and inserts will have visible cosmetic flaws such as wrinkles, cut-outs, slight splitting, etc. However, it will usually have less than a dozen minor flaws.
Good (G)
A record in Good condition can be played through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise, scratches, and visible groove wear. A cover or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear, or other defects will be present.
While the record will be playable without skipping, noticeable surface noise and "ticks" will almost certainly accompany the playback.
Poor (P), Fair (F)
The record may be cracked, badly warped, or won't play through without skipping or repeating. The picture sleeve may be water damaged, split, or heavily marred by wear and writing.
